ANADIGICS’ 3G Penta-band Power Amplifier Slides Into Samsung’s Sleek Smartphone

June 27, 2007

Warren, NJ, June 27, 2007 — ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD) today announced they are shipping production volumes of ANADIGICS AWT6223 UMTS/EDGE penta-band power amplifier (PA) module to Samsung for its SGH-I520 smartphone designed for the European market. The SGH-I520 is the first Samsung phone to use the Symbian OS Version 9.2 for speedy internet access.

The SGH-I520 sports a sliding form offering many of today’s advanced multimedia functions, including a 2.0 megapixel camera, a wide 2.3” QVGA screen allowing for the view of an entire internet page, Bluetooth® capabilities, and 50 MB internal memory along with a microSD memory card slot up to 2 GB. The SGH-I520 handset can connect to the Internet using technology allowing the user to download content at rates up to 1.8Mb/sec over WCDMA, HSPA, or EDGE networks.

"We are very pleased to once again partner with Samsung and have our industry-leading 3G penta-band HELP2™ UMTS and EDGE power amplifier selected for the SGH-I520 smartphone,” said Dr. Bami Bastani, President & CEO of ANADIGICS. "ANADIGICS’ leading line of wireless broadband products and strategic relationships with tier-one manufacturers like Samsung allows us to be a constant provider of feature-full 3G handsets for the user who wants to talk, email or surf the web from their mobile device."

The AWT6223 penta-band PA module incorporates ANADIGICS' second-generation High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP2™) technology to reduce UMTS average power consumption by up to 50%. In WCDMA and HSPA modes, the power amplifier offers outstanding efficiencies of 41% at +28.5 dBm and 21% at +16 dBm, resulting in longer battery life and additional talk-time. The AWT6223 also includes a fully functional quad-band GSM/EDGE PA, with excellent efficiency in the GSM850/900 bands and DCS/PCS bands in both GSMK and 8PSK modes. ANADIGICS' multi-mode PAs use the Company's exclusive InGaP-Plus™ technology, which integrates HBT and pHEMT devices on the same InGaP GaAs die. These PAs are manufactured using a materials set consistent with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
