ANADIGICS Introduces Four New pHEMT RF Switches

February 19, 2003

ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband communications solutions, today introduced four new pHEMT RF switches at the 3GSM World Congress. These high performance RF switch products address the requirements of GSM, CDMA, EDGE, and WCDMA handsets by delivering low insertion loss, high linearity, and high isolation. Manufactured on ANADIGICS' low cost 6-inch manufacturing platform using the Company's pHEMT technology, this family of RF switches delivers industry-leading reliability and performance in low cost die and small 3mm x 3mm IC packaging.

"Capitalizing on our advanced pHEMT technology and innovative design techniques, ANADIGICS has developed a new family of RF antenna switches that meet the very stringent system requirements of 3G handsets. Our new multi-throw RF switches deliver measurable advantages in terms of functionality, performance, cost and reliability which enables handset designers to eliminate bulky filter modules, thereby reducing size and cost of their products," remarked Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Vice President of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS, Inc. "As a result, our new switches have already begun to be adopted in handset designs. ANADIGICS has started production ramp-up for pHEMT switches with a tier-1 CDMA handset manufacturer and a tier-1 GSM LTCC antenna front-end module leader."

The AWS5522 is a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) RF switch for high power handset applications. It offers a low insertion loss of 0.5dB at 2GHz, high port-to-port isolation, and extremely high linearity to enhance the performance of wireless handset radios. Offered in both die form and in a 3mm x 3mm MLF package, the AWS5522 meets GSM specifications for harmonics and compression, while operating down to control voltage as low as 2.7v.

The AWS5523 Single Pole Three Throw (SP3T) and AWS5524 Single Pole Four Throw (SP4T) RF Switches are designed to meet the needs of tri-band and quad-band GSM architectures. Available in die form, these devices offer excellent insertion loss and isolation characteristics, while maintaining exceptional linearity.

ANADIGICS' AWS5533 is a Single Pole Three Throw (SP3T) switch that meets both GSM and CDMA handset specifications. Available in a 3mm x 3mm MLF package, the AWS5533 offers industry-leading standards of linearity in an RF switch, together with low harmonic levels, while working down to a control voltage of 2.5v

The AWS5522, AWS5523, AWS5524 and AWS5533 are priced from $0.50 to $1.00 in quantities of 10,000. Samples are available now. For additional information, visit the Company's Web site at www.anadigics.com, or contact ANADIGICS by phone (908) 668-5000 or FAX (908) 668 5132.
