ANADIGICS Raises the Bar with HELP2™ CDMA Power Amplifiers

September 26, 2005

ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband solutions, today introduced a new generation of High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP™) power amplifiers (PAs) for CDMA applications. ANADIGICS' second generation HELP™ (HELP2™) CDMA PAs provide industry-leading integration, while maintaining the world-class performance offered by first-generation HELP™ PAs. This level of integration and performance eliminates the requirements for external voltage regulation, reducing bill of materials cost and PCB space. ANADIGICS' 3 mm by 3 mm HELP2™ CDMA PAs are footprint compatible with the Company's 4 mm by 4 mm CDMA PAs, thereby reducing time-to-market for new designs.

The unique features and performance offered by ANADIGICS' HELP2™ PAs are enabled by the Company's exclusive InGaP-Plus™ technology, which integrates bipolar and field-effect transistor (FET) structures on the same InGaP GaAs die. ANADIGICS' HELP2™ PAs achieve industry-leading efficiency across different output power levels, specifically at low-range and mid-range power levels where the PA typically operates, thereby dramatically increasing handset talk-time and standby-time.

"Next-generation mobile phones are being designed to deliver an unprecedented level of multimedia services as consumers continue to demand greater functionality. Our innovative HELP™ technology allows handset designers to extend battery life in support of advanced multimedia features," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS. "Through the introduction of HELP2™ CDMA power amplifiers, customers can further decrease bill of materials cost, minimize space requirements, and reduce time-to-market."

ANADIGICS' family of HELP2™ PAs includes the AWT6307 for the US cellular band and the AWT6308 for US PCS band. HELP2™ PAs provide an exceptional efficiency of 20% at +16 dBm and 40% at +28 dBm. These new PA modules offer low quiescent currents of 16 mA and leakage currents of less than 1 µA to further reduce power consumption and increase talk-time.

The new power amplifiers are offered in compact 3 mm by 3 mm by 1 mm modules and are designed for applications that require European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) solutions. The highly integrated AWT6307 and AWT6308 maintain pin-to-pin compatibility with existing 4 mm by 4 mm amplifiers, offering up to 50% space savings.

The AWT6307 and AWT6308 are priced at $1.29 in quantities of 10,000 units. Samples are available now. For additional information, contact ANADIGICS by phone (908) 668-5000 or FAX (908) 668-5132 or visit the Company's Web site at www.anadigics.com.
